Google reminded Europe will push GDS Code of Conduct change
Apparent joy at Google(also at FairSearch) after winning approval for its acquisition of ITA Softwaremay be shortlived, with Europeans urging an overhaul of travel tech regulations.Lobbying groups in the European Union have been hinting for months that the existing GDS Code of Conduct will need to be looked at closely by regulators to reflect what is expected to be a vastly different travel distribution landscape as a result of Google entering the market. The European Travel Technology and Services Association (ETTSA) is at the centre of such moves in Brussels, home to the European Commission which would investigate such a change of the regulatory work.
